Terms of Service
Last updated: 26 October 2026
1. Agreement
These terms are an agreement between you and Project Yello, the operator of Yello Messenger. By using Yello on the web, Windows or Android, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use Yello.
2. Who can use Yello
- You must be at least 13 years old, or older if your country's law requires it (for example 18 in India without a parent's consent).
- You may not use Yello if we have previously banned you.
- You're responsible for your account and for keeping your password safe. Tell us straight away if you think someone else is using it.
3. Community rules
Yello is for friendly conversation. In rooms, private messages, names, avatars and profiles, do not:
- Harass, bully, threaten or stalk anyone, or encourage others to.
- Post hate speech or attack people for their religion, caste, race, nationality, gender, sexuality or disability.
- Share sexual content involving minors, or try to contact minors for sexual purposes. We report this to the authorities.
- Share pornography or graphic violence, or anyone's intimate images without their consent.
- Share someone else's private information (phone number, address, documents) without permission.
- Pretend to be someone else, including Yello staff, moderators or public figures.
- Spam, flood rooms, advertise, or send scams, phishing links or malware.
- Promote illegal activity, terrorism, self-harm, or the sale of drugs or weapons.
- Break the law, or infringe other people's copyright or trademarks.
- Try to hack, overload, scrape or disrupt Yello, or get around a ban, mute or block.
Room owners may add their own rules for their rooms, as long as they follow these terms.
4. Your content
You own what you post. By posting it, you give Project Yello a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, display and deliver it to the people you share it with, only so we can run Yello. You are responsible for what you post and confirm you have the right to share it.
5. Moderation
To keep Yello safe, our administrators and moderators may review reported content and accounts, including private messages (see our Privacy Policy). We may, with or without notice:
- Remove messages, photos, voice notes or rooms.
- Kick, mute or temporarily ban an account, or permanently remove it.
- Reset a profile name or picture that breaks these rules.
If you think we made a mistake, email [email protected] and we'll take another look.
6. Ending your account
You can stop using Yello at any time and ask us to delete your account (see Support). We may suspend or end accounts that break these terms or put others at risk.
7. The service
Yello is free. We work hard to keep it running, but we may change, pause or stop features at any time, and we don't promise it will always be available or error-free. Calls depend on your internet connection and may not connect on every network.
8. Disclaimers and liability
Yello is provided "as is". Other users' content is their own, and we are not responsible for it. To the extent the law allows, Project Yello is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for loss of data, arising from your use of Yello. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that can't be excluded.
9. Changes
We may update these terms. We'll change the date at the top, and for important changes we'll tell you in the app. Continuing to use Yello means you accept the updated terms.
