- Tap Download for Android above.
- Open the downloaded file Yello-Messenger.apk.
- If asked, allow your browser to install unknown apps, then go back.
- Tap Install. If Play Protect asks, tap More details → Install anyway.
- Open Yello and allow the microphone and camera when you start a call.
Add to iPhone or iPad
- Open app.yellomessenger.com in Safari.
- Tap the Share button (the square with an arrow).
- Scroll down and tap Add to Home Screen, then Add.
- Open Yello from your Home Screen. It runs full screen, like any app.
- Allow notifications to hear about new private messages.

Is Yello free?
Yes. Yello Messenger is free on the web, Windows, Android and iPhone, with no subscriptions.
Do I need an account?
No. Join as a guest with just a nickname. Create a free Yello ID with your email if you want to keep your name, buddies and history, and use them on all your devices.
Why isn't Yello in the Google Play Store or App Store?
On Android you can install the app directly from this page. On iPhone and iPad, add Yello to your Home Screen from Safari: it works like an app. Store versions are coming later.
Windows says "Windows protected your PC". Is it safe?
Yes. Windows shows this for new apps that aren't from the Microsoft Store yet. Click More info → Run anyway, or get Yello from the Microsoft Store instead.
Who can read my messages?
Room messages are visible to everyone in the room. Private messages are visible to you and the person you're chatting with. To keep the community safe, Yello moderators can review messages when investigating reports or abuse. See our Privacy Policy.
How do I report someone?
Click a person's name and choose Report or Block. You can also report a single message. For anything urgent, email [email protected].
How do I delete my account?
Email [email protected] from the address on your Yello ID and we'll delete your account and its data. Guest accounts are removed automatically.
